Academy of Learning through Partnerships for Higher Achievement
The ALPHA Center works with local school districts and schools with the goal of improving performance in the fields of mathematics and science. Through outreach and partnerships, the ALPHA Center: helps
- Instructors become better at teaching the subjects of math and science
- Inspire young minds to embrace the fields of math and science
- Bridge the achievement gap, helping underrepresented and underserved populations in Inland Southern California become educationally successful.
Administratively, the ALPHA Center is responsible for:
- Coordinating UCR's activities under educational partnership funding
- Serving as a clearinghouse for information about current projects
- Acting as a catalyst for future activities
The ALPHA Center works with:
- The Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education
- The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
- The Graduate School of Education
- The College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences
- The Science and Mathematics Initiative
